RESEARCH SYNOPSIS
My research is dedicated to preclinical, neuropsychiatric drug discovery targeting GPCRs. Currently, I am
focused on targeting specific serotonin receptors for the treatment of core symptoms of autism, schizophrenia,
and related disorders involving alterations in motor behavior, social behavior, cognition, and sensory/perception
(Research Domain Criteria).

Translation of Novel Serotonin 5-HT7 Agonist Drug Candidates in Rodent Models of Fragile X Syndrome
The primary objective here is to design, synthesize, and discover, in an iterative manner, novel serotonin 7
receptor agonists and assess their effectiveness to correct behavioral and neuroanatomical deficits in an Fmr1
knockout mouse model of fragile X syndrome.
