Consumerism
What is commercialism?
Commercialism is the various forms of
advertisements used to sell products. It
involves persuading people to buy various
things so that the economy can benefit
from their purchases. Some examples of
commercialism include commercials, and
magazine ads.
What is consumerism?
the unquestioning acceptance of
products, services and ideas that often
benefit others yet provide one with only
a residue of things that in the end, lead
to financial weakness, family
disharmony and a weakened nation.
the act of wasting, squandering, using up

What is marketing?
Marketing involves the various techniques
that are used to make products seem
appealing. A good marketing campaign will
convince many people to purchase a
product, even if they don’t really need it.
Some examples of marketing techniques
are who is in the ads, the colours used,
and the words used.
What is a marketing frenzy?
A marketing frenzy involves when a certain product is
advertised to the fullest extent possible. You can feel as
though you can’t get away from it. Marketing frenzies
can include things such as celebrity sponsors, and
advertisements in many different venues. Marketing
frenzies can often result in that one item that everyone
feels as though they need to have, which results in
people having a very difficult time finding it.
 What toys, products, etc can you remember being
involved in a marketing frenzy?
 What are a few examples of that one thing that everyone
