Digital Marketing Analyst
Position Overview
Direct Holdings, the exclusive marketer of Time Life music and video products, and
headquartered in Fairfax, Virginia, is looking for a Digital Marketing Analyst to join the
eCommerce team.
Reporting to the Marketing Director, eCommerce, the Digital Marketing Analyst is responsible
for collecting, analyzing, and reporting on website and marketing data regarding customers,
markets, competitors, web behavior and campaign effectiveness, to measure performance and
support business decisions. This newly-created position requires a strong background in web
metrics, tracking and reporting.
The ideal candidate will have experience planning and managing various research projects, and
be able to work closely with senior management to interpret and present findings in a clear,
concise and actionable way. We are looking for a problem solver that has a natural curiosity
about customer behavior with the initiative and means to track down the appropriate data and
distill it into actionable information.
In addition to the responsibilities of the position outlined below, you will also be part of a team
that is transitioning our traditional offline expertise to a customer-focused online business.
Responsibilities:






Standardized Reporting: Work with internal stakeholders to determine ongoing
business intelligence needs in order to design, develop and produce ongoing reports
and dashboards to support the business.
Campaign Analysis: Provide ROI analysis of all online marketing campaigns with
predefined key performance indicators.
Test Design and Analysis: Work with Marketing Director to create a solid test design
that will produce statistically sound, actionable results.
Web Analytics: In addition to setting up standard web reports, the ideal candidate will
continually mine Google Analytics for nuggets of information and insights to improve
website performance.
Competitor Analysis: Conduct market research to analyze the competitive landscape,
determine brand perceptions, identify new market opportunities and help with the overall
SWOT analysis for all new products.
Set up and Manage Tracking Mechanisms: Work with web developers to implement
new tracking tools and ensure they are working properly on an ongoing basis.
Qualifications:





3-5 years of marketing experience required; Online marketing experience preferred
Prior experience measuring and analyzing web business performance using Google
Analytics
Expert knowledge of Google Analytics and MS Excel required with willingness to learn
additional software systems
Experience with AB testing tools such as Optimizely, Monetate, or Convert a plus.
Experience with analyzing Facebook, email, Adwords and vendor reports a plus.







Knowledge of statistics and direct marketing testing principles required. Experience with
search optimization, search marketing, display advertising and/or email marketing
Strong attention to detail
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Solid business acumen, management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Overall ability to adapt quickly to new requirements and manage multiple priorities will be
critical
Experience working with internal client groups and presenting to senior management is
essential
Bachelor’s degree is required
