MEDIA ALERT The €7.5 trillion Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change appoints two new board members London, May 24, 2013 - The Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change, which represents investors and asset managers worth €7.5 trillion, has appointed Philippe Desfossés, CEO of ERAFP, the French Public Service Additional Pension Scheme, and Craig Mackenzie, Head of Sustainability at SWIP, the investment arm of Lloyds Banking Group, to its board. Philippe Desfossés was Special Advisor to the French Minister for Labour and Social Affairs before joining AXA Group as Senior Manager in 1998, where he was also CEO of two subsidiaries: International Finance Futures and Compagnie Financière de Paris. Prior to ERAFP, Philippe was Director of Corporate Affairs & Business Development and an Executive Committee member at Lilly France. Craig Mackenzie previously headed the Responsible Investment teams at Friends Ivory & Sime and Insight Investment before joining SWIP. He also established the Centre for Business and Climate Change at Edinburgh University, and a specialist research agency, ENDS Carbon. Stephanie Pfeifer, Executive Director of the Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change, said: “I am delighted to welcome Philippe and Craig to the board. They bring a wealth of knowledge and experience at a time when getting the right climate policies in place has never been more important.” Philippe Desfossés said: “Left unchecked, climate change will lead to more extreme weather events and seriously degrade the value of investor assets. Working closely with the IIGCC board and wider stakeholder community I look forward to making progress in tackling these challenges.” Craig Mackenzie said: “Investors have a crucial role to play in the transition to a low-carbon economy. I am pleased to bring my experience working on climate and sustainability initiatives to my role as an IIGCC board member at a critical time in the climate debate.” For further information please contact: Morgan LaManna [email protected] +44 (0)207 960 2718 Nathan Williams, NEW Communications [email protected] +44 (0)7709 114557 About the Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change (IIGCC) The Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change (IIGCC) is a forum for collaboration on climate change for European investors.
