PRESS RELEASE – for immediate release

LONDON, 3th March 2016
Commenting on the Energy and Climate Change Committee’s report calling for
the UK Government to restore investor confidence in the UK energy sector,
Stephanie Pfeifer, CEO, IIGCC said today:
“IIGCC welcomes this well framed report, particularly the emphasis MPs place on the need for the
UK government to ensure going forward that all aspects of its energy policy support a smooth and
sustainable glide path towards the full competitiveness of low carbon energy generation - something
we emphasised very strongly in both our written and oral evidence to this inquiry.
“IIGCC also believes it’s critical that the UK Government secured the longer term investment
required to secure the development of sustainable energy supplies for the future.
“Going forward it is vital the UK government clarifies how it intends to proceed with the next round
of support payments for low carbon renewable energy developments.
“IIGCC will look closely at the committee’s suggestion that all relevant future energy policy changes
should be subject to an Investor Confidence Impact Assessment.”

IIGCC submitted written evidence and IIGCC’s Chair Donald Macdonald gave oral evidence
on 09 Feb 2016.
