15-20 (Flexible Times) Unpaid (Class Credit) Spring: January- May And/Or Summer: May-End of August is an umbrella organization for two entities: the and Business Improvement District. The BID is a 49-block set neighborhood surrounding Pearl Street where property owners tax themselves to make their community cleaner, safer and more vibrant. The BID uses theses taxes to provide a comprehensive marketing program catered to consumers. Downtown Boulder, Incorporated: A voluntary membership-based organization. The elected Board of Directors represents the voice of Downtown businesses providing advocacy to city/government entities. DBI also produces events and maintains the Downtown Boulder gift card program. : Downtown Boulder promotes the Pearl Street Mall and Downtown area through various means, primarily: marketing (updating website and social media accounts, paid advertising, etc), events (Open Arts Fest, Tase of Pearl, etc), and tourism (Downtown Boulder guidebook distribution, Visitor Information Center on Pearl). : The Marketing and Communications Intern will gain applicable job experience in a fast paced office environment. This position will allow intern to develop basic knowledge in website and newsletter editing, graphic design, research and writing, blogging and social media marketing. Interns at Downtown Boulder are part of a team working on long and short term projects using multiple skill sets. Intern must be receiving class credit for this internship. : Interested students must possess: -Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal -Entrepreneurial approach to problem solving -Interest in creative writing -Basic knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & Pinterest… etc.) -Positive attitude, ability to work well with others, and eagerness to learn -Attention to detail and ability to multitask Preferred areas of study: Journalism, Media Studies, Communications, Public Relations and Marketing.
