For Immediate Release June 13, 2016 Movies in the Square Begins Thursday! Summer will officially arrive in Downtown Kingston! this Thursday evening with the premiere of the 2016 Movies in the Square season! To celebrate its 10th year, Movies in the Square is bringing back four fan favourites (Big Fish, Finding Nemo, The Wizard of Oz and Hook) in addition to an exciting line up of films that haven’t yet been shown in the Square! The program is great for a fun family night, a delightful outing with friends, or a unique romantic date. The best part is it’s free for all to enjoy! The whimsical Tim Burton movie, Big Fish, will kick things off this Thursday at dusk (approximately 9:00pm) in Springer Market Square. The films will be projected on the inflatable screen parallel to Market Street in the Square. Movie-goers are encouraged to come early and bring a lawn chair. Popcorn and other treats will be available for sale. “Seat positioning” is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Low back lawn chairs are encouraged. Movies in the Square is one of many events programmed at Springer Market Square and is a cooperative endeavor between Downtown Kingston! and the City of Kingston, Department of Culture and Recreation.
