Next Steps for 2016

Collaborate with UNFCCC to advance common goals in meeting future climate
change challenges

Work closely with ISO to advance and harmonize standards development related
to adaptation and mitigation, consistent with ISO’s strategic plan

Prioritize internal coordination between ISO committees on standards relating to
climate change

Increase acceptance and utilization of ISO climate change standards globally

Support communication between ISO/CS and the UNFCCC Secretariat, as well as
other international standards setting bodies

Complete review of outcomes of Paris COP 21 and resulting International
Negotiations with UNFCCC Secretariat and produce strategic plan to guide ISO
toward incorporation of the political landscape in future standards product;

Develop new guide that addresses aspects of climate change in all ISO Standards.
Guide should complement Guide 82 and CEN Guide 64
