Web Developer (Full Stack) IS 1/2 Duty station Songdo, Incheon - Korea Contract type 3 years Number of posts 1 Recruitment type International Grade Unit Division of Support Services Closing date 11 May 2017 Reporting to ICT Solutions Architect Vacancy code GCF/Recruit/176 The Green Climate Fund (“the Fund”) is a new multilateral fund created to make a significant and ambitious contribution to the global efforts towards attaining the goals set by the international community to combat climate change. The Fund will contribute to the achievement of the ultimate objective of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). In the context of sustainable development, the Fund will promote the paradigm shift towards low-emission and climate-resilient development pathways by providing support to developing countries to limit or reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and to adapt to the impacts of climate change, considering the needs of those developing countries particularly vulnerable to the adverse effects of climate change. The Fund will pursue a country-driven approach in its operations. The Fund is governed by a Board, composed of an equal representation of developed and developing countries; the Board oversees the operation of all relevant components of the Fund. The Fund is serviced by an independent Secretariat, which is accountable to the Board and headed by an Executive Director. The Secretariat, which is accountable to the Board, is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Fund, and is located at the Fund’s headquarters in Songdo, Incheon City, in the Republic of Korea. The Fund is seeking an exceptional person who will take up the challenge of joining a high-performing organization at the leading edge of the financing of climate action in developing countries. Position description The Fund’s current and upcoming ICT systems and solutions are Cloud-centric, and enabling contemporary, flexible while secure usage patterns, that match with the organization’s transformative ambitions. The ICT Full-Stack Web Developer will work in the Fund’s ICT department. The role will include the further development of variety of enterprise cloud-based web applications, gathering functional requirements, developing technical specifications, and project testing & risk management. Duties and responsibilities Under the guidance of the ICT Solutions Architect, s/he will be responsible for: • Developing new Cloud-based web applications and altering existing code for accommodating scale and integration with new technologies and APIs; • Contributing to all aspects of systems development coverage (frontend, middleware, back-end); • Integrating and building for external as well as internal APIs; • Writing and optimizing SQL queries and design schemas; • Implementing in accordance with demands for information security and data protection/privacy best practices; • Solving complex performance problems and architectural challenges; • Supporting users by developing documentation and assisting tools, and • Assisting with other necessary tasks as defined by the ICT Solutions Architect. Expected experience and qualifications • • • • • • • • • • • • • Advanced degree ideally in software engineering, computer science, management information systems or related subjects; Extensive application development experience (4 years for IS – 2, 2 years for IS – 1) with frond-end and back-end for creating database-driven, responsive web applications; Able to provide work samples of a least one major demonstrable project with front-end code, back-end code and used database repository; 2+ years of experience developing web-based applications (on any stack), including the domains of relation database design, business logic creation and front-end building; Strong working knowledge of PHP and/or .NET development; Strong working knowledge of designing and implementing SQL database solutions, including complex SQL queries and stored procedures; Strong working knowledge of JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, HTML5, JSON, XML; Strong working knowledge of MySQL/SQL-Server, Git/TFS, ISS/Apache/Nginx, AJAX; Working knowledge of developing and consuming RESTful Web Services/Web APIs; Hands-on experience developing, releasing, deploying, and maintain web applications; Experience in Cloud services such as Microsoft Azure/Amazon AWS; Experience with Microsoft SharePoint, Office 365, Identity Federation and API authentication models would be a plus; and Experience in a Linux environment and the terminal would be a plus.
