Experience
Previous experience of SQL Server 2005 (or later)
(Oracle experience acceptable if you have
excellent developer skills)
Previous experience of database development
and administration
Experience with CRM / fundraising databases
Business intelligence / management information

Data migration and data cleaning
Development of interfaces with 3rd party systems
User support and documentation
Previous charity experience

Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (or later) including
Stored Procedures
Transact SQL
Integration Services
Reporting Services
Analysis Services
Front-end development (.net/c#)
Ascent database administration
MS Office (including Excel Pivot tables)
Relational database concepts and design
Data warehouse concepts and design
Requirements gathering and analysis
Technical design
Systems testing
Work under own initiative (Self Starter)
Good interpersonal skills – building relations with
both internal and external staff and at different
levels of the organisation
Ability to communicate clearly - particularly in
explaining technical issues to non-technical staff
Team working
Ability to work under pressure
Time management skills.
Ability to overcome obstacles and problems
Knowledge
MS SQL Server 2005 back-ups, jobs and
performance monitoring
Knowledge of software development
methodologies/lifecycles
How charities use information technology
Knowledge of major charity database products
Qualifications/Education/Training
Educated to A level (or equivalent) standard
Educated to degree level (or equivalent)
Microsoft certified in DB administration or
application development
Legal Requirements
Knowledge & understanding of the data protection
