To promote the Wyvern Theatre, its activities and performances to external audiences; to support the marketing and sales functions; to support the Marketing Manager in ensuring audience targets are met through robust and creative strategies; to generate income through sponsorship and advertising opportunities; Main Duties and Responsibilities The following will be carried out under the supervision and guidance of the Marketing Manager: MARKETING To assist the Marketing Manager in the implementation of the marketing campaigns for all Wyvern Theatre productions; To support the Marketing Manager through general administrational tasks including print stock monitoring, sales information, updating and overseeing the various internal marketing schedules, photocopying and word processing of reports etc; To manage the display of in-house publicity material, such as posters and leaflets; To manage outgoing mail, including fulfilling in-house mailings; To help source and collate text, images and visual material for promotional tools; To oversee the production of a quarterly Friends Newsletter and all week-long production programmes; PRESS To assist with press and media related enquiries; To establish and maintain excellent relationships with venue, promoter and external publicists; To assist in the organisation of photo calls, interviews and other press and media requests; To assist the Marketing Manager in researching, writing and distributing press releases for local and national press; To maintain and to update the Wyvern’s press databases, including media monitoring and evaluation through press cuttings; To be present at Press Nights and other Press events as necessary; To proactively pursue PR opportunities; ONLINE To identify and edit material (text, photography, audio, video), constantly enhancing the site's relevance to an agreed range of target audiences; HQ Theatres Ltd. Registered in England and Wales No. 05637233 Registered Office: 85 Tottenham Court Road, London, W1T 4TQ Wyvern Theatre Theatre Square Swindon SN1 1QN Admin: 01793 535534 Ticket Office: 01793 524481 [email protected] www.wyverntheatre.org.uk To take a lead in identifying new projects to develop the website through creative production of new content and feedback ideas and suggestions to the Marketing Manager; To support the Marketing Manager with the Wyvern Theatre’s social media platforms and ensure their relevance to target audiences; AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT To contribute to the aims of increasing & developing audiences; To establish relationships with local businesses which benefits marketing and sales of productions; To proactively investigate and pursue promotional opportunities with local businesses and organisations; INCOME GENERATION To initiate, develop and implement a strategy to secure and retain income from local businesses and organisations through advertising and sponsorship of the Wyvern Theatre in various capacities – from productions (such as Summer Youth Project), brochures or areas of the venue; To consider, act on and follow up all opportunities for generating income; To create and maintain close relationships with advertisers; DEPARTMENT AND ORGANISATION To assist with detailed proofing of the seasonal brochure; To adhere to all company policies; To increase level of knowledge of Audience View through training and practice; To represent the marketing department as required at meetings and promotions To work flexibly with colleagues fulfilling any other duties relating to the marketing for Wyvern Theatre; To fulfil other duties that may be allocated by the Marketing Manager. Proven interest in theatre and the arts Excellent communication skills Ability to cope under pressure and multi-task within a team Computer literacy to high standard on Word/Excel/Photoshop Ability to understand and use social media in a business environment Desirable Requirements 1. 2. 3.
