Marketing Assistant Telecommunications Company (Based in Midrand) Educational Qualifications / Experience Required Minimum Matric certificate Degree in Marketing would be an advantage Proficient computer skills (Ms Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Internet) Minimum 1 year experience as an Assistant Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken Photoshop/ Dreamweaver or any other graphic software – would be an advantage Telecoms/Cellular/Retail knowledge would be an advantage Functional Summary The purpose of the Marketing Assistant position is to serve as the right-hand to the Marketing Manager. To provide strong high-level administrative, diligence in execution of functions, marketing support, as well as assisting in the coordination and implementation of marketing promotions, campaigns and events Main Functions Marketing / Brand Management Ensure that the brand CI is consistently portrayed and aligned with marketing strategy across all elements in the business Assist the Marketing Manager on a daily basis with brand-related tasks, such as briefs to creative agency (traffic control), approval of online social media and banners, print, radio and TV creative, quote requests and price negotiations, ordering of various marketing elements and tracking to delivery Help write, design and develop marketing materials as well as proofread preliminary and final artwork proofs to ensure there are no errors, include: creative adheres to pre-approved templates, layout, content, spelling, pricing, copy and make necessary corrections Conceptualise, arrange and implement advertising and promotional campaigns as well as events Prepare and distribute marketing briefs and trade communications to external and internal parties Compile marketing network claims as well as the supporting documentation to be included with these such as tear sheets for submission Assist in liaison with the production house for the coordination of new TV material To assist with the implementation of new product launches and loyalty programmes Review and respond to various requests received from other areas of the business Assist with marketing daily, weekly and monthly reports and presentations by compiling, consolidating, formatting, summarizing and including graphs Assist with providing the marketing team with competitor intelligence and market research when required Assist with the development of trade presenters as and when required, ensure content, grammar and spelling is correct at all times Assist with marketing budget by capturing PO/invoices numbers and that the invoices correspond to the budget. Send out communication to all areas of the business when necessary Deliver on all reasonable requests made by the Marketing Manager and/or Director Retail POS Photograph and compile mailers for new marketing elements as well as merchandising guidelines per Retail Chain, these guidelines are how new marketing materials need to be portrayed in store To distribute trade communication memos to all relevant parties i.e. Field Service Agents and Store Merchandisers with regards to new product launches, new campaigns and promotions as well as to stores with distribution Update store elements on a continuous basis with new deals and pricing as well as network value added services. Order relevant requirement of the Client approved network point of sale for stores Digital Review the Clients web and mobi sites to ensure they are updated and current at all times, including: look and feel, pricing, stores, addresses, articles and new releases, etc Review the Clients Facebook page daily to ensure latest updates are loaded and visually correct and appealing Review the clients website weekly to ensure they are updated and current at all times, including: look and feel, pricing, stores, addresses etc
