When they contract, they pull on bones and skin. Which controls the movement of the body etc. Skeletal Muscle Cells are long and cylindrical (long spaghetti-like cells) Cells are mutlinucleatedhave more than one nucleus in each cell Cell have striationsparallel stripes” Cardiac Muscle Found only in the heart! Contract to pump blood through blood vessels Involuntary muscles- Your brain controls them. Cardiac Muscle Cells have striationsparallel stripes Cells have only 1 nucleus per cell Cells appear branched Cells fit together at junctions called intercalated disks Smooth Muscle Found in walls of hollow organs (stomach, uterus, etc.) Functions to move material through the body (digesting food) Involuntary musclesBrain controls them No striations- SMOOTH.
