Job Description – Direct Marketing Officer Job Title: Direct Marketing Officer Job Purpose: Design and Deliver Direct Marketing Campaigns and Programmes Reports to: CRM Services Manager Location: Cope Street Core Job Requirements Create and manage an annual Direct Marketing calendar for the fundraising department to maximise revenue from current and new donors via various channels – direct mail, telemarketing, online, etc. Plan and project manage all direct mail campaigns and evaluate their success. Prepare project plans to ensure campaigns are delivered to an agreed timescale, are executed on budget, and are delivered to the agreed target audience. For integrated campaigns, ensure all elements are delivered to support each other. Develop an annual testing plan to identify key variables likely to generate increased return on investment. Propose target audiences to maximise return from campaigns. Research and create new innovative marketing campaigns to reach new audiences in order to deliver return on investment in line with strategic plan objectives. Analyse donor data to establish the optimum direct marketing mix to maximise return on investment. Plan and deliver new digital strategies for raising funds and digital personalisation initiatives to improve donor engagement. Suggest and develop digital tools to deploy personalised direct marketing campaigns, deliver e-direct marketing campaigns and optimise online advertising. Design and deliver engagement programme for existing and new regular givers. Identify and analyse sources of information to understand the Irish market and trends in supporter behaviour. Analyse supporter response to relevant campaigns, identify weaknesses and suggest solutions to correct. Conduct regular post campaign analysis and present to management. Support Manager and Head of Development to prepare an annual budget projecting anticipated revenue and expenditure. Micromanage set budgets for each project 25/01/16 Page 1 of 3 Version 4 Job Description – Direct Marketing Officer Negotiate costs with suppliers to ensure services are delivered as cost effectively as possible adhering to Dublin Simon Community procurement processes and implement best practice in supplier management. Ensure suppliers produce all services according to agreed contracts, terms of reference, and agreed project briefs. Manage the printing process for all direct marketing for fundraising. Produce all campaigns in compliance with all legislation and regulations governing charity activity in Ireland. Support the development of a Shared Services direct marketing and data management function with participating Simon Communities. Excellent writing, editing and literacy skills. High level of attention to detail. Strong Numerical & Analytical skills. Innovative and creative thinking in relation to direct marketing for customer retention and acquisition. Ability and willingness to attend meetings, events and networking opportunities outside of normal business hours. High level of interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire a wide spectrum of supporters and sponsors. Enthusiastic self starter with a target driven approach, comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines. Ability to work as a member of a team and across teams. Experience At least three years experience in a direct marketing role. Experience in managing external agencies. Experience in copywriting and providing creative direction. A proven capability for data analysis and working with databases. Qualifications Degree in marketing or equivalent professional qualification.
