Clark, Josh. "Are Climate Skeptics Right?" How Stuff Works. HowStuffWorks.com, 28 Nov.
2007. Web. 09 Oct. 2014. http://science.howstuffworks.com/environmental/greenscience/climate-skeptic1.htm This is an article by Josh Clark who is a senior writer and
co-host of the Stuff You Should Know podcast. In this article he talks about how the
skeptics of global warming are basically ignoring the facts that world is getting warmer.
He mentions in this article that those that don’t believe in global warming say that the
models used to predicts the Earths future in in accurate. The article says that these people
simply believe that the sun is the sole cause for the sun, clouds, glaciers, oceans, are
responsible for the weather issues. He goes on to say that the skeptics that are arguing
this topic don’t believe go out and say that global warming doesn’t exist they just don’t
believe that humans are responsible for the cause.
"Climate Change Debate: BILL NYE vs CONGRESSWOMAN MARSHA BLACKBURN."
YouTube. MoxNews.com, 16 Feb. 2014. Web. 10 Oct. 2014.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zFruNyiUHQ this is a debate on Meet the Press
between Bill Nye the Science Guy and Congress Woman Marsha Blackburn. What’s
being talked about here is to come up with an action plan to make a change about global
Wilkins 2
warming, but not only have 1 or 2 people do something here and there but for everyone
to come together and do something at once is the only to make a substantial change in
what going on with our climate change situation.
"Climate Change ProCon.org." ProConorg Headlines. ProCon.org, n.d. Web. 08 Oct. 2014.
http://climatechange.procon.org/#background
The article goes in depth about global warming on a pros and cons argument. This article
gives both sides of the story towards weather global warming is real or not. In this
argument even there is voices from both sides of the fence there is still enough
information on the side to sway the reader towards believe that global warming is in fact
real and human are the main contributors to it.
Cullet, Philippe. “The Global Warming Regime after 2012: Towards a New Focus.” Economic
and Political Weekly 43.28(Jul. 12-18, 2008):109-117. In the article its discussing about
what global warming is and not only how human are contributing to it but how certain
countries are contributing to the cause much more than others. Cullet is simply saying +
the richer countries are contributing to global warming much more than the poorer
countries. This article goes on to talk about a legal regime that has begun to talk about
developing framework to create new technology to reduce greenhouse gasses. This was
retrieved from Texas A&M University of Corpus Christi J-Stor database.

"Global Warming and Climate Change." Greenpeace. N.p., n.d. Web. 05 Oct. 2014.
The Green piece organization is an organization moving towards the research in lowering
the effects of Global Warming. This organization is addressing on of the main problems
with Global Warming and that happens to be the burning of fossil fuels. Their solution to
this is by having renewable energy sources like wind, solar, and geothermal can provide
96% of our electricity and 98% of our total heating demand.
"Global Warming." Facts, Causes and Effects of Climate Change. N.p., n.d. Web. 08 Oct. 2014.
http://www.nrdc.org/globalwarming/
This article talk discusses how carbon pollution is the main reason our planet is getting
hotter. Its sheds some light on how the increase in the chances of disasters happening
with the weather such as droughts ab flood. This website also talks about how this can
harm out health as humans health with extreme heat conditions. There are solutions
giving in this article for the steps that we as humans can take to help reduce these
problems, it tell us that we can cut carbon pollution by reducing our dependence on fossil
fuels and increasing our use of clean, renewable energy. We can also put policies into
effect that can help us prepare for flooding whenever the time comes.
"Global Warming Fast Facts." National Geographic. National Geographic Society, 28 Oct. 2010.
Web. 06 Oct. 2014. This is a quick informative article by The National Geographic News
about what global warming is and what is happening around the world today. Also
according to the National Geographic News the rate that world is heating up is going up
Wilkins 4
at an alarming rate. The last 20 years in the 20th century have been the hottest recorded in
over 400 years. This article briefly talks about how the rise in water temperature is
effecting the coral reefs causing them to bleach and die as well as the drastic change in
severe weather.
"History and Debate of Global Warming Exists." Global Warming Exists Debate. Debate.org,
n.d. Web. 09 Oct. 2014. http://www.debate.org/global-warming-exists/ This is a small
article on the debate on whether global warming is real and what to do about it . This
article discusses approaches on the subject of global warming form the political side and
the scientific. In the article is briefly tells how the from the political stand point global
warming can be reduced. The political side states that mitigation is common and calls for
a reduction of emissions and less reliance on fossil fuels. And while the scientific side
also known as the environmental radical proposed a system called geo-engineering which
would involve engineering the climate of the earth artificially through taking out carbon
dioxide from the atmosphere or blocking sunlight from coming in.
"How to Fight Global Warming." How to Stop and Fight Global Warming. National Resources
Defense Council, n.d. Web. 09 Oct. 2014. http://www.nrdc.org/globalwarming/gsteps.asp
This website is by National Resources Defense Council this organization has brought
some very great point into perspective about lowering global warming. In the article they
talk on having renewable energy sources building green home and using low emission
smart cars.
"Huffington Post." Bill Nye Defends Climate Change Concerns After CNN Suggest Some View
Wilkins 5
Him As Kooky. Huffington Post Green, 16 June 2012. Web. 09 Oct. 2014.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/tag/bill-nye-global-warming/ This is a small debate
on CNN weather Global Warming has anything to do with wildfires. Bill Nye had his
very own TV show called Bill Nye The Science Guy that won 18 Emmys in 5 years,
hosted 3 currently running TV series including the 100 greatest discoveries on the
Science Channel, has served as vice president of the Planetary Society which happens to
be the world’s largest interest group, and has a degree in mechanical engineering from
Cornell University. He begins by stating the rise in heat has a great effect on wildfires by
saying how Colorado was once cool and wet and so was the forest floor but when 2 years
later when there was lighting strike and the forest floor was much dryer due to the rise in
heat this made the forest fire much more intense.
Prothero, Donald R. “How We Know Global Warming is Real and Human Caused.” Skeptic,
17.2(2012):14-22. In this article by Donald R. Prothero he addresses what is actually
happening in reality due to the human caused behind Global Warming. In the article he
talks about how the carbon levels have increased in the earth’s atmosphere and what it’s
causing to happen in the world, such as melting polar ice caps, melting glaciers, the rise
in climate temperature, the rise in sea level, and that this effect is not just natural climate
Wilkins 6
variability. He gives a lot of evidence in this article about global warming but the
problem is only half of the American population actually believe it is real. This article
was retired from Texas A&M University of Corpus Christi Gale Group database.
Ramanathan, Veerabhadran. “Global Warming.” Bulletin of the American Academy of Arts and
Science, 59.3(2006): 36-38. Veerbhadran Ramanathan is Victor C. Anderson Professor of
Ocean Science and the Director of the Center for Atmospheric Science at the University
of California, San Diego. He has been a part of the Academy since 1995. He talks about
the effect that greenhouse gasses have on global warming and how we as humans have
contributed to this global warming problem. According to Victor this problem stared in
the 1950s when the world’s population had increases by 60 percent. He goes on further
and talks about the C02 parts per millions and why we as humans should be concerned
about this increase and what this is causing too happened in the blanket of greenhouse
gasses. This was retrieved from Texas A&M University of Corpus Christi J-Stor
database.
Scheraga Joel D. “Combating Global Warming.” Challenge, 33.4(July-August 19 1990): 28-32.
Joel is a Senior Economist with the National Acid Precipitation Assessment Program and
the US Environmental Protection Agency. In the article he is very concerned about the
environmental effects that global warming is having and that scientist aren’t addressing
the situation directly as it should. He is saying that simply because there is some people
that may not believe it is real should suffice as a reason to delay a possible problem that
may occur. On problem he mentions in this article is the constant rise in sea level which
Wilkins 7
can cause major flooding and millions of dollars in repair damages. This was retrieved
from the J Stor database at Texas A&M University of Corpus Christi.
"The False Alert of Global Warming." The American Spectator. Tom Bethell, May 2005. Web.
09 Oct. 2014. http://spectator.org/articles/55208/false-alert-global-warming This is an
article about how there are false alerts claims about global warming. Some of the claims
made in this article is saying that global warming alerts were very misleading to the
public. Some of the alerts were "The drop in food output could begin quite soon, perhaps
only in ten years," Newsweek reported in 1975. "The resulting famines could be
catastrophic." Now the rest of this article tells us about the slight change in temperature
but it isn’t what it’s made out to be this topic is still highly debated to today on whether
what the human contribution is to the cause because plants produce their own CO2.
Ulph, Alistair., Ulph, David. “Global Warming, Irreversibility and Learning.” The Economic
Journal, 107.442(May, 1997): 636-650. In the past numerous argue whether the effects of
global warming is irreversible or not. What these guys are addressing in this article is the
effects of global warming and a theory of whether the effects of global warming is
irreversible or not. Also the mention how global wouldn’t have been as bad as it is if
people were in the know about it. These guys want you to be better informed on global
warming the issue itself and then how go about how to go about handling the situation. In
this article there are various equations that indicate whether the effects are reversible or
not this is very complex. This article was retrieved from Texas A&M University of
Corpus Christi J-Stor database.
