COURSE OUTLINE
This is an introductory course in quantum computation and quantum
information aimed at postgraduate as well as senior undergraduate
students from various streams of science and engineering.

Physics
Staring with introduction to quantum mechanics the course will
develop the subject of quantum computation and quantum
information from the basics.
Q u a n tu m algorithms, quantum cryptography, quantum error
correction and aspects of quantum entanglement theory will be Pre-requisites:
covered.
Some knowledge or Quantum Mechanics and /or
Linear algebra will be useful.
COURSE DETAIL
A video course shall consist of 40 or more lectures with 1hr duration
per lecture.

quantum measurements.Single qubit,
multiqubits, gates. Density operators,
pure and mixed states, quantum
operations, environmental effect,

Introduction to quantum algorithms.
Deutsch-Jozsa algorithm, Grover's
quantum search algorithm, Simon's
algorithm. Shor's quantum factorization
algorithm.

Cryptography, classical cryptography,
introduction to quantum cryptography.
BB84, B92 protocols. Introduction to
security proofs for these protocols.
