Project suggestion as part of the course 203-1-3431 November 7th, 2011 Student: Gil Sharon Advisor: Prof. Yigal Meir Title: Non-linear conductivity in quantum point contact Abstract: In recent years several experiments were performed in non linear conductivity in quantum point contact – a narrow constriction between two wide electrically conducting regions. In this project we will try to understand which of the experimental results can be explained by standard physics, and which requires a more complex theoretical explanation.
