Program Overview The Sales and Trading teams of Wells Fargo Securities help clients manage their exposure to interest rates, commodities, corporate credit and equities. The teams structure, price and trade customized interest rate, commodity, equity, and credit solutions for clients who want to hedge a financial risk or add a structured investment to their portfolio. The Asset Backed Finance & Securitization Group of Wells Fargo Securities provides structured lending and securitization services to core clients across all asset-types including consumer assets, corporate loans, residential mortgages, commercial mortgages and corporate operating assets. Training Analysts will develop an understanding of the concepts, mechanics and applications of market fundamentals as well as the interface between products and markets through a comprehensive training program in Charlotte. Wells Fargo professionals and consultants with special expertise in their fields equip analysts with the skills, knowledge and tools to make an immediate contribution to their team. Analysts will also receive on-the-job coaching, mentoring and feedback throughout their tenure with the firm. Opportunities Offers are made for a specific office and product group, based on candidate preference and business need. The program is an initial two-year commitment with an opportunity to stay longer at the firm’s discretion. Analyst opportunities are available in Charlotte, New York, and San Francisco within one of the following teams: Interest Rates Helps companies analyze and manage financial risk resulting from changes in interest rates. Commodities Offers a variety of customized derivative and physical solutions to help companies manage their exposure to commodity markets, primarily in energy, metals and agriculture. Equities Designs and issues market-linked products including notes and certificates of deposit. Corporate Debt Finance Focused on financing specialty finance companies, asset managers and institutional investors by providing debt capital secured by middle market and syndicated loans. Commercial Operating Asset Finance Focused on financing assets that are core in nature to the company’s business model. Typically, these assets are long lived and have proven cash flow throughout business cycles. Consumer Finance Focused on providing capital in the form of warehouse and permanent financing to companies that originate or aggregate consumer receivables. Residential Mortgage Finance Focused on providing capital in the form of warehouse and term financing to companies, asset managers, and investors that own, originate or invest in residential real estate, loans, or securities. Commercial Mortgage Finance Focused on providing structured finance and securitization solutions to companies, asset managers, and investors that own, originate or invest in commercial real estate, loans, or securities. Responsibilities Analysts are an integral part of a team and have the opportunity to assume significant responsibility that may include: • Structuring customized investment strategies using conventional cash and derivative products for individual investors • Executing and booking trades • Using risk management tools to monitor trading positions and manage risk • Interacting with operations, documentation, and systems support groups • Providing analytical support to senior traders and product specialists • Generating daily P&L and risk management reports • Generating client presentation materials Qualifications Minimum Qualifications • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills • Demonstrated excellence in working effectively as an individual and as part of a team • Strong personal motivation, attention to detail and creative mindset • Strong organizational skills • Ability to multi-task and work in a deadline driven environment • Dedication to building a career in the financial services industry • Willingness to work long hours in a demanding, highly focused, collaborative, and team environment Preferred Qualifications • A bachelor or master’s degree with an emphasis in finance, economics, mathematics, computer science, engineering or a related quantitative/analytical field • Strong interest in financial markets and derivatives with expertise in macroeconomics, business cycle analysis, fixed income or commodity markets attained through internships, part-time or full-time work, and/or extra-curricular activities • Advanced proficiency in excel, VBA, C++, or Java is preferred for trading candidates • Professional experience through internships, part-time or full-time work, and/or extracurricular activities • An individual who demonstrates a sense of personal accountability and urgency for achieving results Wells Fargo will not sponsor visas for these positions, and will not hire individuals whose work eligibility is based on their F-1 or other student visa status.
