About Lungs
The lungs are a vital organ in
our body, located in our
chests. These organs brings
oxygen . Each lung is made
up of lobes.
The left lung has 2 lobes and
the right lung has 3. The
tiniest branch is called
bronchioles. It has a
thickness of a human hair.
There are bout 30,000
bronchioles in each lung.
How your Lungs works?
 The Lungs can breathe in and out as much as
36,000 a day without you even think. Very simple,
the function of the lungs is to absorb oxygen.
When remove for transplant , the lungs can
survive outside the body longer than any other
organ. The left lung is smaller than the right lung
to make room for the heart. About 10,000 quart of
air go through your lungs everyday. The total
surface area of the alveoli is around the size of a
tennis court.

What is Lung Cancer?
 Cancer of the Lung, like other cancers, results from
an abnormality in the body’s basic unit of life, the
cell. Normally, the body maintains a system of
checks and balances on cell growth so that cells
divide to produce new cells only when new cells
are needed. Disruption of this system of checks
and balances on cell growth results in an
uncontrolled division and proliferation of cells
that eventually forms a mass known as a tumor.
