Title:
In Full Sing: Why Nations are Coming Together for Climate Change Solutions?
Presenter:
Professor Sir David King (UK Special Representative to the Foreign Secretary on Climate Change)
You will:
· Hear about how science tells us why global average temperature rises of more than 2°C above pre-industrial levels will
significantly change the world’s climate and why we need this not to happen
· Explore ideas about how recent human activity in different parts of the world has caused the Earth’s surface to warm by
about 0.8°C since around 1900 and why this is significant
· Examine some of the ideas and innovations which are helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions
· Find out about what Sir David does within the government as UK Special Representative to the Foreign Secretary on
Climate Change
· Think about why climate change negotiations take place at an international level and why countries agree or disagree on
what they need to do
Can’t make the date? Don’t worry, register now and we’ll send the recording to you.
