Fractured Fairy Tales
(Psychological Disorders)
You are going to rewrite a common fairy tale giving the main character(s) your disorder.
1) Choose a fairy tale you are familiar with (refer to the list provided). Two teams may not
use the same story (first come, first serve).
2) Using your book and any other research of the disorder, rewrite the story as it would be if
the main character had that disorder.
3) Stories should NOT name the disorder, but should describe it within the story.
4) Type the finished story and include all team member names on the top of the page.
5) Be prepared to discuss your character(s) and their disorder.
6) You might like to include some visuals, either technologically based or not. Many of you
are wonderful artists. The pictures DO NOT have to be animated. Still shots are fine.
7) The ONLY ACTING you will be required to do is simply applying an appropriate
“voice” to the character who is speaking out at the time.
8) You DO NOT have to memorize your Fractured Fairy Tale. Reading it aloud to the class
is all I expect.
Students will read the fairy tales to the class. Using the knowledge gained from the text, students
will be asked to diagnose what disorder the characters in the fairy tale have.
