Procedure: Day 1
1. Each of you will create a drawing of a cell.
One of you needs to create a drawing of a
plant cell and one needs to create a drawing
of an animal cell. The organelles that need
to be in your drawings are on the back of
this sheet. The drawings should take up
most of the paper.
2. Once you have completed your drawings
color each the same (between you and your
partner). Your drawings should be outlined
with marker and then colored with colored
pencils or crayons.
3. Color, label, and outline (with marker) all
organelles!

Procedure: Day 2
1. Search through magazines and clip out
words or phrases that represent the
structure and/or function of each organelle
that you have drawn or labeled. (You cannot
create the words!)
2. Take the clipped words or phrases and
paste/tape them next to the organelle they
are describing on the drawing.
3. Complete the back of this sheet by filling in
the words you cut out and why you chose
them.
4. Turn in your direction sheet attached to
your drawings.

Grading: (You will be graded on the following
criteria for this class project)
 Project Organization (3-2-1)
o Did you complete and turn in the
organelle sheet?
o Did you follow all instructions?
Include all organelles?
 Project Content (3-2-1)
o Did you accurately draw and label the
cell?
o Did you properly relate the clippings
to the cell structure or function?
