Marketing Assistant Start Date: a.s.a.p. Duration: 6-12 months The Host Company Sheffield United is a professional English football club based in the city of Sheffield, South Yorkshire. They club was formed in 1889 and they currently play in the English Football League Championship. They were champions of England in 1897-98 and runners up in 189697 and 1899-1900, and FA Cup winners in 1899, 1902, 1915 and 1925, finishing runners up in1901, and also eleven years after their cup final win in 1936. The Placement Sheffield United is looking for a student who has good experience in marketing or customer service and is able to liaise and build relationships with external design companies, suppliers and customers. During the placement you will be maintaining an up to date competitor database and marketing filing systems as well as managing stock levels for all marketing, sales literature and compiling ad hoc reports for presentations and queries on products and prices are part of your main duties. Furthermore, you will be helping with organising and attending Open Days, Road shows, Exhibitions and Events as and when required. Promotion is a big part of this role as you are required to assist with the production of advertisements, point of sale material, leaflets and merchandise. Also, you need to manage social networking sites and develop other digital media channels. Duties such as analysing and evaluating campaign effectiveness, copy writing for brochures, advertisements, press releases and co-ordinating mail and other PR campaigns for events and monthly initiatives are also required for this role. The placement requires a student who is able to support the marketing manager, directors and other colleagues. Other tasks such as answering the telephone calls, emailing and website enquiries must be carried out in a professional manner with contact details being recorded online with company standards. The main duties of this role are as followed: Demonstrate the value add to each sales campaign, through quantitative analysis Maintain Club Brand Values Utilise multiple communication channels – face to face, telephone, mail, internet, mobile. Ongoing overview and development of Club brand (logo, font, collateral, email style, etc) Co-ordinate appropriate Media & Advertising strategy and execute with local media partners Co-ordination of club and 3rd party personnel for marketing activities and events Produce and Manage Club marketing calendar In conjunction with relevant managers, work with or manage all 3rd party software and other agency or service providers as necessary to implement marketing strategy Production of professional presentations to support the business needs Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business and organisational development. To take briefs from various departments and develop campaigns to support annual sales and marketing calendars * The student may be asked to work on match days as and when required during the football season.
