The word Messiah comes from

What is Rambam’s 13 principles
of faith
written by Rabbi Moshe ben
Maimon, one of the greatest
medieval Jewish scholars. Also
known as Maimonides.
1. G-d exists
2. G-d is one and unique
3. G-d is incorporeal
4. G-d is eternal
5. Prayer is to be directed to G-d alone and to no other
6. The words of the prophets are true
7. Moses' prophecies are true, and Moses was the greatest of
the prophets
8. The Written Torah (first 5 books of the Bible) and Oral
Torah (teachings now contained in the Talmud and other
writings) were given to Moses
9. There will be no other Torah
10. G-d knows the thoughts and deeds of men
11. G-d will reward the good and punish the wicked
12. The Messiah will come
13. The dead will be resurrected
Contrary to popular belief the sin of
the Golden Calf (Exodus 32:)was not that
the people chose another deity.
What was the sin?
That they tried to represent G-d
in a physical form.
Yetzer tov is the moral conscience,
the inner voice that reminds you of
G-d's law when you consider doing
something that is forbidden.
According to some views, it does not
enter a person until this event.

Bar Mitzvah
The process of creating the world
was achieved by this symbol or
contraction which is likened to the
folding in of G-d’s hand into its
palm to create a “vacant space”
which was then occupied by
heavenly Jerusalem and the lower
& upper Gardens of Eden,
crowned by three letters of yod.

This is said that is a symbol of

Amidah
What prayerful action is performed by the congregation
