National Capacity Self-Assessments (NCSAs)
National Capacity Self-Assessment for the
Global Environmental Management
(NCSA)
Objective:
To assist countries in identifying their capacity development needs
and priorities to manage the three Rio Conventions (UNFCCC, CBD
& UNCCD) giving particular attention to synergies between the
conventions
Expected Results of the NCSA Initiative:
An Action Plan of priorities following a detailed assessment
A more
integrated approach to dealing with the global environment
issues (conventions) and enhanced awareness of their inter
linkages
An
interim coordination mechanism that may lead to a more
sustainable legal and institutional frameworks
