Marketing and Communications Officer Gen2 Engineering and Technology Training Ltd Salary: up to £17,947 per annum (dependant on qualifications & experience) Location: Workington Contract: Full-time Closing Date: Open The individual will need to work in close collaboration and under the direction of the Marketing Manager to deliver the required services across company departments including sales and recruitment. Tasks and duties will be varied but will include traditional marketing communications; digital marketing and the development of evolving digital channels; event management; brand development and awareness; monitoring and analysing market trends; studying competitors' products and services; exploring ways of improving existing products and services. The role will also include working with subject experts to develop commercial tender submissions which are critical to the commercial success of Gen2. The role may also include other tasks as directed by the Marketing Manager. Duties and Responsibilities Writing, designing and production of corporate literature, including case studies, company templates, products brochures, etc. in both physical and digital mediums. Utilising both traditional and digital marketing mediums to ensure that Gen2 is effectively represented in all mediums to promote the brand and succeeds in raising sufficient learner and customer engagement across all areas of the operation. Using digital marketing mediums effectively to ensure that Gen2 remains at the forefront in these mediums and is making best use of these technologies to reach our target audience. Technologies will include, but not be limited to, the Gen2 website, Facebook page, Twitter and Linked-In. Providing an active monitoring service and liaising with relevant staff to respond in a timely manner via these mediums. Comparing and analysing the Gen2 use of these mediums and comparison with competitors. Continual development of the Gen2 website on a daily basis and ensuring that the content remains current and relevant. Working with subject experts to develop commercial tender submissions Playing an active role in marketing events - including event planning, organising suppliers and event team, supervising the event. Sourcing and maintaining relevant stocks to support marketing activities such as event banner stands, literature and giveaways. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Marketing Manager. Requirements (Essential) Good communication and presentation skills - both written and verbal Good customer facing skills and confidence engaging the public Strong analytical, administrative and organisation skills and attention to detail It is essential that the individual is highly competent with business IT systems and has an enjoyment for this type of work. High competency with Microsoft Office is essential, plus some flair for literature design and the use of graphics. Some experience with design software (eg. InDesign, Photoshop, Publisher) would be beneficial because this will be an essential part of the role. There will be a need to perform updates and uploads to the web site using a content management systems. Familiarity and an understanding of social networking products such as Facebook, Linked-In and Twitter. A flexible approach to working, where necessary outside normal business hours to respond to marketing needs and provide event support. Additional Requirements (Desirable) A formal qualification in marketing.
