OS3120 Oceanographic Survey Method
Syllabus
Course of Oceanographic Survey Method provides methods and procedure of
measurement and also data collecting of physical oceanography parameters, such as
temperature, salinity, density, tide, current, wave, ocean mapping survey, and also oceanmeteorology parameters. This course also provides laboratory exercise.

Syllabus
Studying physical characteristics of local influences of Atmospheric Boundary Layer on
sea surface which responsible for: (1) warming (cooling) of sea surface by heat transfer of
atmosphere and evaporation, (2) generation of wind waves caused by movement of wind
turbulence on sea surface (3) turbulence and forming homogeny quasi surface layer
(mixing) in the sea as result of wind action. In part I, Dynamics of Sea-Atmosphere
Surface Layer will be studied. Atmosphere Boundary Layer, where we life, always
experiences turbulence. Physical reality and understanding of turbulence will be studied.
Part II outlines wind waves in deep sea. Part III studies process of vertical mixing
dynamics in upper sea. This course purposes to give introduction to descriptions of
theoretical and experimental study of sea-air interaction
