CELEBRATION OF THE INTERNATIONAL OZONE DAY FOR THE PRESERVATION OF THE
OZONE LAYER IN MONGOLIA
16 September 2010
The International ozone day for the preservation of the ozone layer was
celebrated broadly in Mongolia. In this celebration, many organizations
such as Ministry of Nature, Environment & Tourism, National Ozone
Authority, National University of Mongolia, Environmental University ECO
ASIA, Mongolian Refrigeration Association and Association of Journalist
were participated in collaboration on these activities which were main
events of this day.
Organized Press Conference with the presence
of Mr. Enkbat D., Director of Department of
Minister of Nature, Environment and Tourism
and Director NOA of MNET , Prof.Adiyasuren
Ts., Director of NOA , Mr.Davaasuren L., Head
of Mongolian Refrigeration Association, and Mr. Usukhjargal Ts.,Board
member of MRA for journalists of Mongolian National Broadcaster TV,
Mongol TV, NTV, TM TV, TV 9, TV5 channels, Mongolian National Radio
‘’Hurd’’ and also daily newspapers ‘’Zuunii medee’’, ‘’Zuunii shuudan’’ at
the Public Information Center of Mongolian National Broadcaster TV on 16
September 2010. Mr. Enkbat D., Director of Department was convened
Statement on Ozone layer protection and climate change and Prof
Adiyasuren Ts., was delivered presentation on ‘’Interlinkages between
Ozone layer and Climate change’’ including preparation of HCFC phase
out management plan. All mass media were broadcasted special news on
ozone day though their channels.
It was interesting for the general public Mr.Davaasuren L., Head of MRA,
given interview on ‘’Government Partnering with private & civil society
organization for the Ozone layer protection’’ to the ‘’NTV’’.

Press release developed and circulated to the journalists at the Press
Conference.

The Secretary –General message on the International Ozone day for the
preservation of the ozone layer was translated into Mongolian and
circulated to the journalists at the Press Conference.

Prof.Adyasuren.Ts, Director of NOA was given interview on Ozone layer
protection and Climate change issues broadcasted by ‘’B TV ‘’ channel on
15 September 2010.

Prof.Adyasuren.Ts, Director of NOA was given interview on ‘’Ozone layer
protection issues and CFC was phased out in the world’’ broadcasted by
‘’Mongol’’ TV channel on 16 September 2009.

Prof.Adyasuren.Ts, Director of NOA was given interview on ‘’Ozone
depletion and climate change’’ to the Mongolian National Radio ‘’Hurd’’
station on 16 September 2010.

Organized Scientific lecture on Ozone
and Climate linkages for students for
National
University
of
Mongolia,
Faculty of Earth Sciences and Faculty
of
Ecology,Environmental
Science
and ECO ASIA Environmental University in the ‘’Academic Circle Hall’’ of
National University on 16 September 2010.
Prof. Davaasuren B., Vice president of National University of Mongolia
made an opening speech on the scientific lecture.
The Scientific lecture was very interested and lecturers and students
were ask questions and lasted long discussion. The original presentation of
the lecture was released on the web site of National University of Mongolia.

CHANGE: Start preparing for the HCFC phase out’’
was translated, published and distributed to the
MNET, Journalist, students participated to the
press conference and scientific lecture.

Souvenir Medal named on ‘’OZZY OZONE ’’
was designed and made.
In all day of the 16th of September, Nine TV channels’ through hot news time were
broadcasted and disseminated news and interviews on the ‘’International day for
the preservation of the ozone layer’’ for the general public.
Also ‘’ Activities on the Environmental protection month in Mongolia’’ was opened
at the Central square of Sukhbaatar in Ulaanbaatar and Prof.Adiyasuren Ts., was
delivered speech and carried out public awareness setting special corner on
‘’Ozone layer protection activities in Mongolia’’ . There were participated more
than 1000 person in this event.
