What’s so important about getting the right colostrum?
All newborn farm animals are born with minimal immunity against infections. They gain immunity by feeding on
their mother’s colostrum, but even then full immunity does not develop for 3 – 4 months. Unfortunately the quality
and quantity of mother’s colostrum is often poor and mothers will only produce anti-bodies against diseases to
which they have been exposed or immunized against. Net-Tex concentrated colostrum powders and pastes are
designed to provide everything the mother failed to do.
Net-Tex’s concentrated first day colostrums contain naturally high levels of;
Immunoglobulins: - Antibodies
IgG
Neutralizes toxins and other invaders; including viruses and bacteria
IgM
Destroys bacteria, controls antibody response
IgD
Antiviral, prevents hemolytic disease in infants
IgE
Involved in regulating allergic response
IgA
Highly antiviral and antibacterial, prevents infection
Other compounds
Secretory IgA

All Net-Tex natural colostrums and additives are blended using Collate technology to yield a most rapid
and complete uptake of the active ingredients.
Problems with Rotavirus, Coronavirus, E. Coli, Salmonella & Cryptosporidium?
Net-Tex provides another Scientific Breakthrough in Newborn Technology !
ROTO~CORONA PLUS – For newborn and transported calves
Rotavirus and Coronavirus are highly contagious viruses and, along with E.Coli and Salmonella bacteria and
Cryptosporidium protozoa, are the most common cause of severe diarrhoea in newborn calves and bought-in
calves (calves having been tightly penned together at markets or in trucks). First clinical signs of infection are
dull calves reluctant to drink, followed by a sudden onset of a pale yellow diarrhoea, sometimes with mucous
and blood present. Severe dehydration soon follows which causes the whole digestive system to shut down.
Mortality can occur but slow recovery with long term lack of thrift is more usual.
Rotavirus, Coronavirus, E. Coli, Salmonella and Cryptosporidium immunity may be gained through anti-bodies in
the mother’s first colostrum if it is taken within the first hours of birth (but only if the mother has been subjected
previously to these pressures). Net-Tex provides these anti-bodies in a concentrated form in Roto~Corona Plus
paste to supplement what nature failed to do. Anti-bodies from Mammalian and Avian* sources are combined
with vitamins A, D & E, pre-biotics and pro-biotics in an oral syringe. Corn Oil and Coconut Oil are added to
provide instant energy, to stimulate the gut and to aid digestibility. Using Collate technology these ingredients
are rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream to enable a fast response and to help develop the immune system.
*Why add Chicken Antibodies and IgY?
Chickens produce a unique class of immunoglobulin molecules called IgY’s that can be harvested from the egg
yolk. Chicken IgY is the functional equivalent to mammalian IgG (see overleaf). It is found in the serum of
chickens and is passed from the mother chicken to the embryo via the egg yolk, imparting a high concentration
of chicken IgY to the developing embryo.
Hyperimmune eggs
Hens elicit a strong antibody response if they are exposed to pathogenic protein sequences such as bacteria
and viruses. Researchers found that hens (after they had been stimulated multiple times with whole or parts of
inactivated disease microorganisms or purified antigens) would lay eggs containing high levels of specific
disease antigens. Eggs prepared this way are known as “hyperimmune eggs”. Such eggs are harvested and the
yolks collected and purified to produce titres of immunoglobulin anti-bodies (described as specific egg proteins).
Immunoglobulins from chickens bear considerable resemblance to mammalian IgG’s, but also display some
unique structural and functional characteristics that distinguish them from IgG. There are many advantages to
using IgY antibodies:
•
•
•
•
Specific titres of anti-body can be produced for Rotavirus, Coronavirus, E. Coli, and Salmonella
Along with the production of antibodies, stimulation of the hens results in generation of small molecules
having anti-inflammatory properties. These factors appear to help the body initiate defenses against
pathogens such as the Cryptosporidium protozoa, and help maintain immune system control.
Hyperimmune egg appears to “balance” immunologic responses, rather than “boost” or unnecessarily
“enhance” these processes.
Upon ingestion, much of the IgY immunoglobulin is apparently still able to bind antigen despite exposure
to digestive enzymes. Important when feeding older calves.
Net-Tex uses hyperimmune egg proteins as its IgY source. Net-Tex blends all its Collate colostrum powders and
paste at its dedicated factory in Kent, England.
