The newest leaves on this hardy shrub emerge tinged with red,
turning a medium green as they mature. Color returns to these
maple like leaves in the fall providing a nice show in the garden.
The flowers, typical of viburnums, may not show up on this plant
until it is well established. It has an upright growth habit when
young, becoming rounder with age. Generally these plants do not
need much pruning to stay nice looking. If you do prune you will
want to do so right after they have finished blooming.
This is a long lived shrub that grows best in moist well drained
soils. It is not particular to soil type or pH. It is very tolerant of urban pollution.
