Basic Do’s and Don’ts of Advertising Including Newspaper, Magazine, Internet, Email, Radio, Television, Direct Mail, Business Cards, Door Hangars, and Signs Do’s 1. Do make sure when you advertise an individual licensee, team, group or other marketing entity that you identify the brokerage in lettering at least ½ the size of the lettering or logo that identifies the individual group or team. 2. Do make sure to include the name of the brokerage as shown on Division records when advertising to purchase or rent property. 3. Do clearly identify the roles of any non-licensed personnel in any photographs. 4. Do make timely changes to ALL advertising and marketing information, and REVIEW the information periodically to make sure it is current and correct. 5. Do on all Individual Licensee and Brokerage Internet advertising or marketing include: a. City in which the property being advertised is located b. Name of the firm as registered with the Division with which the licensee is affiliated c. City and state in which the licensee or firm’s office is located d. Regulatory jurisdiction in which the licensee or firm holds a real estate license e. The licensee’s name (for Individual Licensee Only) 6. Do follow the guidelines for the PCBOR REALTORS email list a. Sender must be a member of the PCBOR b. File size must be under 200 KB and include 1. Address of the property 2. Price of the property 3. First and Last name of the Agent 4. Company of the agent 5. Telephone number of the Agent Don’ts 1. Don’t advertise or offer to sell or lease property without the WRITTEN consent of the owner of the property and the listing broker. 2. Don’t advertise or offer to sell or lease property at a lower price than that listed. 3. Don’t include confidential information such as garage codes, names, or phone numbers in the public or website remarks. 4. Don’t make any misrepresentations or false promises regarding the property. 5.
