Cisco Systems, Security Cloud Operations (SCO) develops innovative products in the domain of Network Behavior
Analysis (NBA) in order to fight against modern sophisticated attacks in today's cyberspace which include Advanced
Persistent Threats (APT), exploit kits, zero-day attacks, polymorphic malware or trojans inside the client's network.
Cisco SCO line of products is based on the latest, US Army funded R&D and integrates Artificial Intelligence
techniques (statistical analysis, autonomic/agent-based computing, ensemble classification, graph theory, gametheoretic self-optimization) within the framework of distributed, intelligent, and forward-thinking security architecture.
Cisco SCO solutions are deployed as an appliance, with an optional embedded network probe, virtual appliance or a
software module for integration with Cisco cloud solutions or as OEM module for integration with third-party products.
It relies only on NetFlow and/or WebFlow inputs, ensuring easy integration with any networks.
We are developing our team and currently looking for experienced Research Scientist with strong Machine Learning
background as well as Software Engineering experience to work in an international environment in downtown
Prague, Czech Republic as a part of the Threat Defense team spanning across Prague, CZ, Silicon Valley (San
Jose), CA, Austin, TX, and London, UK.
Work in the field of Machine Learning and Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence,
Pattern Recognition or Cloud Computing
Build scalable machine learning systems for detection of modern malware and advanced cyber threats
Build high-performance systems capable of handling challengingly Big Data maintained by CISCO
Provide working prototypes in Java and/or Matlab
Contribute to patentable inventions and collaborate on research challenges with academic institutions
PhD in Computer Science (or equivalent)
Solid working experience in research projects
Solid research publication record would be an advantage
Research experience in several of the following areas: Machine Learning and Data Science, Computer
Science, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, Data Mining, Pattern Recognition, Cloud Computing, Game Theory,
Graph Theory
Experience in prototyping in Matlab and/or Java (or in a similar language) would be an advantage
Capability to stand up and formulate technical arguments supporting one’s opinion
Teamwork spirit and excitement to work on complex cutting-edge systems for detection of modern malware
and advanced cyber threats is essential
Experience of working in an agile environment would be a strong plus
Excellent logic and problem solving capabilities
Can-do attitude with a strong drive to take the initiative and complete tasks
Fluent English
