Marketing and Communications Manager
Metro Strategies, Inc., a policy, planning and public affairs firm, is seeking a manager of marketing and communications. This
is a new position for the firm and will be responsible for all of the firm’s marketing and communications activities, as well as
assisting with project communications. This position will work closely with the firm’s President, Creative Director and Web
Designer. The Marketing and Communications Manager will be based in the Glen Ellyn office.
Duties will include:















Producing and keeping current all firm marketing materials, including a firm brochure, staff resumes, project fact
sheets and all other needed marketing materials.
Producing a monthly firm e-newsletter.
Working with the firm’s President to prepare a yearly marketing plan.
Assisting the firm’s Vice President with a client satisfaction program.
Assisting with the preparation of presentations.
Generating new ideas on how to promote the firm.
Writing and preparing project proposals, including necessary forms.
Ensuring the firm has current vendor registrations in multiple databases.
Monitoring websites and e-alerts for new opportunities.
Maintain effective relationships with teaming partner firms.
Preparing content for the firm’s website.
Maintaining firm’s social media accounts and activity.
Providing QA/QC on project communications.
Providing communication support to project managers on client projects.
All other marketing and communication duties that arise.
Skills
Outstanding writing skills are required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary since this position works
with all staff, clients and the general public. Must be able to juggle a variety of tasks simultaneously and prioritize projects
efficiently. Since projects can be fast-paced and deadline driven, the ability to be flexible, well-organized and self-sufficient is
important. Creative in generating marketing and communication ideas for the firm and firm projects. Staying on top of
emerging marketing ideas and trends. Experience working with the public sector, in particular the transportation industry, is a
plus.
Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Communications or the equivalent related fields. A master’s degree
is preferred.
Compensation
This is an hourly paid position. Schedule, hours and compensation based on experience and life-work balance requirements.
