POSITION:
Processing Assistant IV
This position serves as a member of the Administrative Services Support team with primary
responsibilities as the Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Coordinator; assisting with Subsidized
Child Care services; serving as back-up to the Administrative Officer; assisting in Receptionist duties;
and as clerical support to the Social Work and Economic Services units. In this position, workers must
have the ability to independently work with people with courtesy and tact in performing public contact
duties that may be sensitive in nature with persons of all socioeconomic backgrounds. The worker in
this position must have significant knowledge of office or work unit procedures, methods, practice and
equipment; and significant knowledge of and ability to use correct grammar, vocabulary, spelling and
office terminology. The worker must have the ability to learn and apply laws, rules and regulations
covering programs and services and have excellent computer skills. All DSS employees may be called
upon to perform work during emergency or disaster situations including but not limited to staffing
shelters overnight. This service, if required, will take precedence over duties described in this job
announcement.
Minimum Training and Experience Requirements:
Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills and abilities gained
through at least two years of office assistant / secretarial experience; or an equivalent combination of
training and experience.

Grade 14
$21,141
