areas.

architecture.
2. Leads to the improvement of design of
electronics and in the understanding of what
makes the brain unmatchable to a complex
computer.
Funding and duration of the project
• The USA defence advanced project agency is
the main source of funding.
• The project durable up to 2015.
Objectives of the project
.
• The goal is to produce prototype chips.
• The device must use 1kw of energy or less.
• To build computer more like the brain.
Reliability of the project
• IBM principal of investigation for synapse says
“it is a tool that can be use to better
understand how, cognition works”.
• Jim Olds a computer scientist says "this is a
great step forward for neuroscience”.
