eMarketing Manager, Online Community and Portal Development, Mining IQ
The eMarketing Manager is a results-oriented individual with experience in e-Marketing and web site
management, including database marketing strategies and internet-related promotions. The eMarketing
Manager leads e-marketing efforts for industry focused B2B sites (IQ Communities) in strategic and creative
development, implementation and measurement of all online and database activities and search engine
optimization strategies. In addition, the eMarketing Manager is responsible for developing the email marketing
strategy and providing end-to-end management of industry newsletters, utilizing effective online
communications to integrate with other marketing programs to extend and support the overall IQPC brand
experience.
Primary Responsibilities:

All marketing activities for the portal/IQ community

Membership acquisition – Email marketing to promote membership of the portals

Site management – Regularly update content, source white papers, source and co-ordinate blogs and
other content sources

Site management – overall corporate site management, including interface standards, release
schedules, site interactivity and lead generation

Create creative EDM campaigns to drive new membership and grow social networks

Complete strategic development of the social media networks, including – Linkedin, Twitter and
Facebook

Write 1 – 2 articles a week to be published on the IQ

SEO – monitor and continually improve organic search results

SEM – develop and implement search marketing strategies

eMarketing – develop e-marketing initiatives through site improvements; conduct A/B tests of emarketing efforts, development and deployment of eNewsletters

Lead generation – develop the industry sites into a lead generation tool and opt-in databases

Database Management – Manage the opt-in database using our internal CRM system

Site analytics – manage all site analytics and closely measure performance of site activity, promotions
and usability. Track cross-overs from the community to the event sites.

Cross department collaboration –works closely with web developers and event marketing managers to
promote IQPC events in your communities

Content – ensures that web content, web offers and online elements are continually evaluated,
updated and enhanced, creates and executes strategic media/content partnerships for site stickiness

EQ Generation for global mining IQ events as well as Mining IQ sponsorship activity

Building and managing an external Link Building strategy for the IQ

Writing the weekly newsletter and sending out every Tuesday

Compiling the weekly IQ analytics report

Meeting annual targets for traffic, membership drive, media views, webinar attendance, and Mining IQ
linked in membership

Building global strategic partnerships

Conducting gap analysis on membership and activity and driving marketing initiatives to meet these
requirements

Working closely with the Editor, Sponsorship Manager and Online Content Writer to leverage the
brand, quality, content and differentiation of the portal in industry

Account manage portal sponsors, training them for the recording of webinars and podcasts, from on
boarding through to execution (the marketing executive actually facilitates the webinars)

Communicate traffic, leads and results through to portal sponsors on a regular basis

Be prepared to market 2 events a year connected to the IQ in revenue terms – develop marketing,
content and communications strategies in connection with them, and potentially use a blend of digital
and direct marketing techniques.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s level education or equivalent, plus experience in eMarketing strategies and tactics would be
beneficial

Experience with Siebel CRM, and Exact Target software would be beneficial

Strong understanding of Internet best practices and standards

CRM and/or enterprise software experience highly desirable

Working knowledge of web interface design and multimedia

Excellent writing and editing skills

Proven ability in the creation of quality web campaigns

Understanding of Web 2.0 environment and evolving Web tools used to improve online presence and
marketing efforts
