Chapter 2 – Marketing Ethics
1. Some people criticize marketers for targeting children and teens, showing unrealistic
body images, and causing unnecessary purchases. Find an image for an advertisement
that does this, and copy and paste it here. Explain the criticisms for this ad.
2. Some advertisements are designed to inform consumers about a product or service.
Find an example of an ad meeting these criteria and paste it here. How is this particular
ad helpful to the consumer?
3. Marketing is responsible for many successful public awareness
campaigns, such as Don’t Drink and Drive, Buckle Up, and Just Say No.
Think of a problem that is prevalent in society today. Create a poster or
some other visual aid (print ad, billboard) that would contribute to a public awareness
campaign for the problem. Be creative and make the ad eye-catching.
