Vacancy – Shopper Brand Manager

Main Purpose of job:
To own the shopper experience of the Highland Spring brand, from product
to comms, driving brand appeal and conversion to purchase.
To lead and implement a continual improvement ethos in packaging and
format across the Highland Spring Group portfolio, delivering best in class
product ranges designed to meet consumer needs, remove barriers to
purchase and drive competitive advantage.
To lead brand NPD, driven by consumer and shopper insight and creating
sound business cases to drive recommendations through the business.
To assist Highland Spring brand shopper activation and communications, in
support of the Sales and Customer Marketing Teams.
To champion HSG’s trading brands - Speyside Glenlivet, Hydr8, Hydr8
Flavours and Own Label product. Develop, manage, implement and evaluate
sales support plans for each.
Main duties:
 Responsible for packaging excellence and development/leading brand NPD
o Work closely with customer marketing to harness consumer and shopper insight to
ensure opportunities are identified and created for format developments and NPD,
across all brands and including private label, and across all retail and non-retail
environments.
o Own the business case for change: lead cross-functional collaboration and
engagement and ensure change is driven in the context of sound commercial
principles and in order to drive a profitable return.
o Evaluate change and champion a process of continual improvement across all
product ranges.

Responsible for brand compliance on Highland Spring brand shopper marketing, in line with
the annual brand plan and working closely with the Customer Marketing Manager, who owns
activation budgets.
o Assist in the development of the annual Highland Spring Brand Plan with specific
responsibility for on-brand shopper communications.
o Ensure brand compliance across all key shopper touch-points to maintain quality of
brand presentation and brand continuity.
o

Learn and share from timely evaluation of activities to make recommendations on
strategy, budget allocation and investment levels.
Responsible for the development of the annual Speyside Glenlivet, Hydr8, Hydr8 Flavours,
and own label sales support plans including any associated budget.
o Develop, own and promote strategic recommendations for the brands, cognisant of
commercials around brand production, distribution, customers and price as well as
sales targets.
o Manage and implement brand activity including production of collateral materials
and POS, PR, trade advertising, digital comms.
o Ensure brand compliance across all key touch-points to maintain quality of brand
presentation and brand continuity.
Key skills and requirements:
 Formal Marketing qualification – Honours degree preferred
 Experienced in FMCG brand marketing – food or drink preferred
 Minimum of 3 years’ experience gained within marketing team in product or shopper
marketing
 Strategic thinker with evidence of developing actionable brand/product insights from
consumer and market data, and converting insights into solid commercial propositions
 Commercial acumen and proven budget management experience essential; strong on ideas
and creating opportunities with a small budget
 A highly organised self-starter and a solution thinker
 Engaging and enthusiastic team player with strong influencing skills; evidence of mobilising,
engaging with and managing key stakeholders effectively
 Strong project management skills – experience of managing multiple projects through the
full project lifecycle
 Strong presentation and communications skills (written and verbal)
 Experienced in managing agencies in a range of marketing disciplines, including graphic and
product design
