 *8 planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter,
Saturn, Uranus, Neptune
 *Moons – revolve around planets
 Meteorites
 Asteroids
 Comets
*(These are listed in order from largest to
smallest)
THE SUN

 *largest body in our system
 Center of our solar system – all planets orbit
around the sun
 *Mostly composed of (made up of) Hydrogen
and Helium

Sun has a powerful gravitation pull
 *Sun’s gravity is responsible for the orbits of
planets around the sun

