Product Marketing Manager At SimpleTuition, our goal is to make it easier for students and their families to afford higher education. About the Position We are looking for an energetic, self-motivated individual who will thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment. The Product Marketing Manager will be a key member of the Marketing team and report directly to the VP of Marketing. The qualified candidate will be responsible for developing, coordinating and executing all marketing programs for SimpleTuition’s two newest products: SmarterBank (a bank account that earns rewards which help pay down student loans) and SmarterBucks (a rewards program that helps pay down student loans). Both products are new strategic initiatives for SimpleTuition. The Product Marketing Manager will define product messaging and positioning, develop marketing and communication plans, manage the execution of those plans and measure and analyze program results. Primary and secondary research may also be conducted to help inform product positioning and marketing campaign design. Responsibilities Include: Develop product marketing plans for SmarterBank and SmarterBucks Rewards that meets defined product goals. Refine product positioning within the context of other SimpleTuition products as well as competitive banking and rewards products. Determine segmentation plan for SmarterBank and SmarterBucks customers. Develop targeted messaging and differential treatment for each customer segment. Work with copywriters, designers and web developers to design and build marketing assets (email templates, landing pages, banner ads, etc). Manage execution of marketing plan, working with acquisition and retention teams to ensure program dates are met and the appropriate messages are delivered to the right segments and channels. Analyze program results and optimize messaging and channels to increase conversion. Conduct focus groups, online surveys and one-on-one interviews to gather product feedback that can improve the product and/or inform marketing messages. Conduct competitive analysis to evaluate product positioning in the market. Work with product and engineering teams to share product feedback, increase conversion, improve product features and user experience and inform product development priorities. Work closely with senior executives, including CEO and EVP, Banking & Rewards, to review program plans and results. Qualifications: BA/BS or equivalent is required (concentration in Business/Marketing a plus). 4-6 years of consumer-focused product marketing, online marketing or product management experience (experience with online media, email marketing, social media and events preferred). Demonstrated success developing and managing targeted, cross-channel communications across multiple customer segments. Proven success marketing consumer financial services products (bank accounts, credit cards, etc) or consumer rewards programs a plus. Knowledge of direct response marketing, segmentation, testing and measurement techniques. Proven ability to increase conversion and response rates through testing messages, channel mix and conversion flow. Ability to analyze customer data and develop customer segmentation models. Experience with primary and secondary research and translating research findings in marketing communications. Dedicated team member capable of reaching out to build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners. Detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills and experience managing complex marketing campaigns and projects. Strong analytic skills with proficiency in Excel. Outstanding presentation, written and oral communication skills, and ability to communicate comfortably with management. Highly motivated, proactive, energetic, self-starter looking to have a significant impact on business success and willing to work closely in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
