Job Description Job Title Marketing Assistant Reports to Marketing Manager Purpose of the Job To work in the marketing team to implement and deliver a marketing strategy to raise awareness of Shakespeare’s Globe, to increase audiences, visitor numbers and revenue. Principal Responsibilities To work with the Marketing Manager and Senior Marketing Officer to support the marketing campaigns across all areas of Shakespeare’s Globe. To work with the Senior Marketing Officer on the day to day management of the ENTA patrons database and to plan, monitor and analyse direct mail campaigns. To work with the Senior Marketing Officer to implement distribution of all printed marketing materials via external suppliers and on site, as well as sourcing relevant new initiatives. To source and liaise with relevant partners for promotional and marketing opportunities, and to monitor and analyse resulting sales. To work with the marketing and digital teams on the day to day management of the Shakespeare’s Globe online profile and social media. To provide administrative support to the ongoing market research programme undertaken by Shakespeare’s Globe. To provide support with monitoring, recording and filing marketing activity as appropriate. To work with the Marketing Manager on the day to day management of the Communications, Exhibition, Shop and Theatre Marketing budgets. Assist all team members in the smooth day-to-day running of the department. Person Specification Essential Excellent verbal and written communication skills Eye for detail Ability to work under pressure and to deliver to tight deadlines Self motivated yet good team player Demonstrable experience of liaising and managing day to day relations with external suppliers Good organisational skills A positive attitude, good manner in person, by phone and on email, common sense, and a pragmatic approach to work Desirable Experience of working with a ticketing or box office system Experience of database management Understanding of and interest in performing arts and/or visiting attractions Understanding and awareness of the not for profit and education sectors Experience of using content management systems, video editing software and Photoshop. Recruitment Information and Terms and Conditions Full Time / Permanent Appointment – [A full set of terms and conditions will be supplied with a contract of employment] Salary: Circa £17,000 per annum; dependent upon experience. Hours: 40 hours per week inclusive of lunch breaks. Flexibility of working hours will be required with some evening and weekend commitments for which, if these hours are worked, time may be taken off in lieu upon representation of this to, and with the express agreement of, the Marketing Manager. There are no extra payments for additional hours worked. Holiday: The annual holiday leave is 25 days per calendar year plus Bank Holidays.
