Behaving badly gets you nowhere.
When two young boys get into an altercation at a public park, their parents meet to discuss the event
in a calm and rational manner…But as the evening progresses (and the rum is drunk), diplomatic
civility makes way for all out conflict, leaving liberal principles, expensive flowers and half-digested
food in tatters on the floor.
Winner of the Tony Award for Best New Play and Olivier Award for Best Comedy (2009), God of
Carnage is a brutally entertaining and stingingly comic character study of middle class pretence and
savage parental instinct.

Constables Blunt and Gobbel have one last duty to fulfil before they clock off on Christmas Eve: to
tell the old couple at number 58 some terrible, terrible news. But what if the shock is too much for
the frail pair to bear? Maybe they’d be better off not knowing. And maybe the hapless constables
would be better off if they hadn’t got themselves stuck in the middle of a lynching organized by a
group of anti-paedophile vigilantes.
Multiple misunderstandings, a stray Chihuahua and an apparently transvestite vicar contribute to the
escalating mayhem in Anthony Neilson’s hilarious pitch black farce which is being revised for this
new Tron Theatre Company production.

It’s two years after the referendum, and Bob Cunningham has stuff on his mind: whether or not to
take early retirement; politics, of course, and what to do about the No vote, Brexit, Corbyn, the
refugee crisis… that weird thing about rising into the heavens… and not forgetting the letter from
Ethel, his ex. As he confronts retirement and the onset of old age, is his life’s work done? Is he
finished? Can he come to terms with his, and his country’s past and future?

A city. Just like this. Right now. A teenage girl boils up in rage in a toilet cubicle. A finance worker
preaches doom in a busy train station. An absurd coke-addled celebrity races through town on a
mission. A paranoid stoner stares blankly at the endless disasters on the TV news. In just one
moment, all their worlds will end.
Multi award-winner Kieran Hurley weaves a picture of a familiar city at its moment of destruction,
asking what would we do if we found ourselves at the end of our world as we know it.

In the fading memory of his Arches roots, Andy Arnold and his troupe will take guests on an absurd
journey down corridors and up stairwells and into backstage passages to meet strange characters
reciting even stranger stories.

Chris has just experienced three deaths, one after another. He’s in prison awaiting trial. But he can’t
quite remember why.
During one riveting hour we witness him piece together his complex descent from passionate love to
shame and devastation. Just beneath the surface of everyday life there’s complete anarchy lying in
wait.
Coriolanus Vanishes is a contemporary tragedy written and performed by David Leddy, “maverick”
(Guardian), “iconoclast” (List) and “genius” (Scotsman). Exploring how childhood memories can
besiege adult relationships, it combines the moral ambiguity of the arms trade with the challenges of
adopting an abused child.
Sometimes your friends are worse than your enemies, and sometimes you’re the worst of all. What
happens then?

nurture and develop their initial creative ideas. Facilitated by leading puppeteer Gavin Glover, the
accent from start to finish was on showing, not telling. The aim: for each group to present 3-5

THE RED CHAIR
Fri 3 & Sat 4 March, 8pm
£10 (£7.50)
Changing House
The Red Chair is the surreal story of a dysfunctional family whose father literally eats himself into a
chair. This epic ballad lies somewhere between a Grimm’s fairytale, an absurdist ghost story and a
parent’s guide on how not to bring up children. This unique solo storytelling performance is told in a
rich and saucy Scots dialect with physical verve, a wee dram of whisky to oil the way and an original
musical score that rolls in like mist over the hills.

The weight of this sad time we must obey;

For the first time in ten years Darya, and her father, Roger, meet in the transit lounge of Schiphol
Airport, Amsterdam. She is a dual-national, trapped between two cultures, living through trauma;
with a singing voice that lights the darkness. He is a professor of music, blinded by privilege, with a
narrow view of the political landscape. As they reach out to one another, an event a world away
impacts their reconciliation.

Play a role in its future and help us ensure we’re here for at least another 35!
Did you know?
The Tron Theatre is a registered charity and box office sales only account for around 16% of our
operating income. So we have to seek financial support from many different sources including public
funding, trusts and foundations, sponsorship from businesses and donations from individual
supporters.
The Tron Theatre is committed to creating an exciting and eclectic programme of work throughout
the year as well as nurturing the creativity of young people from all walks of life. However, we need
your help to continue to make all of our work, on stage and off, happen. Your support will help many
different elements of the Tron’s work, from education and outreach activities to supporting emerging
artists through to helping us to stage productions and keeping our building in a good state of repair.
Ways to support us:
 Donate in person, when buying tickets or online
 Donate by text message: Text TRON01 £3 to 70070. (NB You can choose any value from £1,
£2, £3, £4, £5, or £10)
 Join our Patrons membership scheme or buy a gift membership for someone special
 Make a regular donation through direct debit
 Support the long-term future of the Tron and leave a gift in your Will
 Support the Tron through your company, with a Corporate Partnership, Sponsorship (e.g. of
productions, tickets, panto) or by hiring the Tron for meetings/events
 Earn donations for the Tron when shopping online via EasyFundraising.org.uk
