Nomination Form for Ontario Targets of the Structure Genomics Consortium (SGC) Purpose: For Ontario researchers to nominate protein targets of pharmaceutical or biomedical relevance. These should be human proteins or proteins from human parasites for which a 3D protein structure will aid biomedical research. Purification protocols for proteins from the SGC target list may be made available to the research community. Our aim is to nominate up to 200 targets from Ontario researchers for which structures do not exist in the Protein Data Bank (PDB, http://www.pdb.org). Nomination of multiple proteins of a target family/class is preferred. Process: By submitting this form, you consent to release and make public all information contained within this form except, if indicated, your name and contact information. E-mail the completed form to [email protected]. Nominations will be forwarded to the SGC Scientific Committee, which will review them for approval. Nominations will be reviewed on a quarterly basis. SGC will notify you if your nominations were accepted. Name: __________________________ E-mail: _____________________________ Institution: __________________________ My contact details should be kept in confidence: (yes/no) In addition to 3D structures, will your research benefit from the release of expression clone(s) and a purification protocol prior to the structure being determined? (yes/no) Target List: Target ID, Name & Domain (geneDB, EC, or genbank ID) Target Class/Family (e.g. protease, kinase) Comments (e.g. availability of cDNA, assay, inhibitors, other) (expand table as needed) Brief Rationale for Nomination of above Target(s): If possible: 1. comment on disease relevance of target and priority of target within your list 2. comment on and cite any literature or previous results/evidence with respect to validation as drug target 3. comment on its involvement in any pathway or mechanism of relevance to disease (expand box as needed) Please completed form and send to [email protected].
