Job Description Job title: Sales & Marketing Assistant Base: The Brain Charity, Norton Street, Liverpool. L3 8LR Responsible to: The Business, Finance & Resources Manager Hours: 37.5 Hours per week Summary of role description: The Sales & Marketing Assistant will increase the number of room hire bookings the charity takes, the number of people using the café and the number of people buying our merchandise and other items. To do this they will find new customers and use techniques such as telemarketing, online advertising, social media and hard copy advertising such as newspaper / magazines to promote the charities products and services. They will help customers by ensuring that all orders are correctly dealt with and followed through successfully. They will also develop excellent relationships with customers and constantly seek to increase customer satisfaction levels and increase their business with us. Key responsibilities Sales Make sales calls to existing and potential new customers. Visit potential customers to seek out new business and perform pitches/presentations. Representing the charity at trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations. Identifying new customers and business opportunities. Work with finance staff to make sure invoices and payments are issued and collected in appropriate timescales. Administration Take bookings for room hire via phone, e-mail or face-to-face. Ensure all customers are well supported and that their queries are responded to quickly. Provide customers with quotations. Update and maintain the room booking diary. Record sales and send copies to the finance staff. Monitor and respond to online orders and distribute any items purchased. Promote and arrange the delivery of our in house catering service to room hire clients and liaise with our café staff to make and confirm catering orders. Marketing Work together with the Communications Team to produce high quality advertising materials, pitches and presentations. Develop the charity’s online shop by writing text and seeking out new images. Organise campaigns/promotions to boost purchasing such as sales. Work with the Communication team to create social media campaigns. Work with the Communication Team to create and publish advertisements in relevant publications and online. Perform basic market research to find out how our customers rate our services and products and use information to improve the products and services. Work with the Communications team to set the pricing of merchandise and other items to be sold by the charity. Other Provide cover for evenings and weekend room hire bookings within the building where required. To attend and support a minimum of 4 whole centre events over the course of a year. Take responsibility for being up to date with the charity’s current policies and procedures and to work to these. Cary out any other reasonable tasks which may be required by the charity from time to time.
