POSTER PROJECT
Your poster must be illustrated and attractive. It must include all of the
words for the definition. Plan ahead and think of some things you can draw
that show the part of speech. This website has more information about the

Nouns
A noun is a word for a person, place, thing, idea, or quality. The can be
common or proper.
Verbs
A verb is a “doing” word, a linking verb, or one of the twenty-four helping
words.
Adjectives
An adjective is a word that describes or modifies a noun. They tell which
one, what kind, how many, or whose.
Adverbs
An adverb is a word that describes or modifies a a verb, an adjective, or
another adverb. They tell how, where, when, and how much.
Pronouns
A pronoun is a word that takes the place of a noun.
Subject pronouns: I, you, she, he, it, we, they, who
Object Pronouns: me. You, her, him, it, us, them, whom
Prepositions
A preposition is a word that shows position or location but must be part of a
phrase. Examples: in the room, on the table, behind my chair, over the
rainbow
Conjunctions
Conjunctions are words that join words, phrases, or clauses. Examples:
and, but, or, since, if, when, because, although
Interjections
An interjection is a word added to a sentence to show convey emotion.
Sometimes they are followed by an exclamation mark. We don’t use
interjections in essays.
