EIP Mathayom Course Outline
First Semester
Subject: Basic Math
Grade: Mathayom 4
Course Description:
This course in basic mathematics is required of students in Mathayom 4 with an emphasis in
Languages. The material to be covered during the year was selected in accordance with the
Basic Education Curriculum (BE2551) issued by the Ministry of Education Thailand. During the
year the material covered will meet and exceed all educational benchmarks and standards. The
primary focus in this year will be the general study of advanced algebra, probability, and
statistics. The course is designed to provide students with the basic mathematics background for
university admission
Course Objectives:
 To provide a solid introduction to mathematical theory.
 To approach mathematics in a sequence that instills confidence, and then
challenges students.
 To develop analytical and critical thinking skills through investigative work.
 To develop Information Technology skills related to mathematical topics.
 To develop practical skills for solving a wide variety of mathematical problems.
 To provide the students with useful estimation and mental calculation skills.
 To provide the students with a number of problem solving techniques that can be
applied to mathematics and other intellectual pursuits.
