The Sentence
A sentence is a group of words which makes
a complete sense is called a sentence .
Kinds of Sentences
English sentences can be divided into five classes
according to meaning .
1. Assertive sentence 2. Interrogative sentence 3.
Imperative sentence 4.Optative Sentence 5. Exclamation
Sentence .
Assertive Sentence:
A sentence that makes a statement or
assertion is called a declarative or assertive
sentence .
Assertive sentences are of two kinds. They are :
1. Affirmative Sentence
2. Negative Sentence
Affirmative Sentence :
Affirmative Sentence Which affirms something is
called an affirmative sentence.
I have given some examples with structure which is bellow.
Structure :Subject + Transitive Verb + Direct Object .
We collect food .
Negative Sentence:
The sentence which denies something is
called a negative sentence .
Structure : Subject + do not / does not + transitive verb + direct object
Example : He does not carry the luggage .
Most Common Transitive Verbs are
given bellow.
Attack , Boil , Break , Bring , Buy ,
Bend , Catch , Carry , Choose , Collect
, Cut , Do , Drive , Drink , Eat ,
Explain , Expand, Finish etc.
Try to make sentences above the words
Structure : Subject + Intransitive
Verb
Example : The girl is dancing nicely on the
stage .
Most Common Intransitive Verbs are given bellow:
Come , Dance , Go , Swim , Float, Stroll , Run, Jump, Walk, Fly , Get up ,
Rise , Move , Travel , Cry , Shout , Roar , Whistle , Howl ,Bleat , Trumpet
, Mew , Bark , Twitter , Laugh , Neigh , Sob , Scream , etc.

Interrogative Sentence :
The sentence that asks a question is called an interrogative sentence.
Structure : Auxiliary Verb + Subject + base form of verb + direct object + ?
Example : Does Kamal throw a stone?
Structure : Auxiliary Verb + Subject +base form of verb + indirect object + ?
Example : Do they help the poor man ?
