Term 1
FUNCTIONAL MEDIA
1. Oral presentation: Interview. Must hand in a script at the start of
the oral presentation. A bibliography must be included with the
written script. 3-5 minutes
2. In a 300 word essay (in the genre of a persuasive speech explain:
a)Which product you have chosen b) The features of your
advertising campaign c) The target audience of your advertising
campaign d) The advertising approach or tactic you used e) Why
you think your advertising campaign will be successful. Deliver
spiel: 3-5 minutes
Term 2
FILM REVIEW
Individually, students write a review of a film for their peers. Length:
300–400 words.
1. In a small group, students prepare a PowerPoint or Prezi
presentation, which discusses the suitability of their film for a
teenage audience. Length: 3–5 minutes per person
Year 12
ACCOMMODATION
1.
Written: A folio of resources locating rental properties; a
collection of forms necessary to obtain a rental property,
e.g.application, lease. Written description of properties and letter of
reference.
2. Oral Presentation: An interview between a Property Manager and
an applicant for a rental property. 3 -5 minutes

WORKPLACE INFORMATION
1.
Written: Report on a career student is intending to persue,
including Code of Conduct, WHS, Wages, Education
Requirements, Duty of Care, Training Expectations

Oral Presentation: Suitable for Yr 10 career information.
Multimodal presentation. 3 – 5 minutes
NOVEL REVIEW
1.
Minimum of 300 words reviewing social issues and characters and
settings.
2.
Oral Presentation – PowerPoint or Prezi to inform peers
Term 3
MAGAZINES AND MEDIA
1. Design and produce a mini-magazine to inform and entertain
teenagers – 300 words with visuals and layout. Present your
magazine to the class (3-5 minutes).
Term 4
CAREERS
1. Produce for adolescents an attractive and informative electronic
booklet about a particular career which is easy to use. Resume
and letter of application to be included. 500-600 words
SMALL BUSINESS
1.
Folio/report of information required to establish a small business
2.
Oral Presentation: Suitable for seeking financial assistance from an
institution 3 – 5 minutes
RECREATIONAL CLUB
1.
Written proposal (300 – 400 words) outlining club holiday as
proposal to committee for approval.
2. Oral Presentation – PowerPoint of features of proposal. 3-5
minutes (small group)
