Propaganda
Commercial Project
This project is for you to prove that you
understand propaganda and persuasion
• It’s a group project---5-6 groups per class—no
more
• You are selling to the viewers a product, a group
to join, a place to go to, or an idea for people to
consider (Stand—don’t smoke)
• Your commercial CANNOT be for any product
that people can really buy today—make up a new
one—you must create a new name and label if you
have to—name it –design it—describe it—sell it
• Little effort and planning will be costly as far as
your group grade goes.
In your group--decide
• Group name
• Product, group, place or
idea
• How will you sell it—
what’s the commercial
plan/idea?
• What 3-4 types of
propaganda will you
incorporate
• Setting—think about our
school, and where we can
actually film your
commercial
• What props, poster,
products or tools do you
need
• Roles in the group—who
is responsible for what--everyone must be included
• Effective word choice to
get message across to
viewers
• Any posters or signs must
be neatly written, spelling
and grammar is correct
Script
• You must spend a lot of time on your script—what
you say in your commercial is huge
• Your actual words make or break your
commercial—remember 3-4 types of prop.
• There should be NO DOUBT about the type of
propaganda techniques your group used
• You must practice before we film you---memorize
what you will say—no one holds scripts in real
commercials
