Raymond of Peñafort uses Inquisition to convert many Muslims. 1095-1292 European Christians launch nine Crusades. In Roger II’s 12th century Sicily some Muslims baptized Conrad of Ascoli, OFM (c.1275) reports 6,400 Libyans baptized 1250-73 William of Tripoli baptizes many Muslims, but with Crusader protection. St. Dominic (1170-1221) St. Francis of Assisi (1182-1226) and Ramon Llull (1232-1315) call for evangelization of Muslims, but no movement results.
